Spending time in a group can be a great way to move from an understanding of MSC concepts to a felt experience of how the work moves in our internal landscape. An invitation to mindfulness, often though a guided meditation, sets a peaceful stage for learning. The common humanity in our experience is clear when we hear other people talk their exploration and adventures. And an environment of kindness is fostered by the teacher and in the spirit of the instructions as we are constantly prompted to ask “What do I need right now?” We can get some of this from reading books and watching videos, but “being there” can really bring the message home. I hope to see you at one of these events.
Talks and lectures offer information about concepts and research related to MSC, often with some brief practice instructions.
A workshop can be from 1 hour to a 2 days long, introducing participants to the concepts of mindfulness, self-compassion, shame resilience, archetypes, parts work and/or Buddhist philosophy and practice.
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC)
MSC is offered in 4 daylong sessions either together or over a number of weeks in a residential or non-residential setting or over 8 non-residential sessions in 8 weeks.
Live Online MSC
Live Online MSC is a 10-week adaptation of the MSC program. 2-hour sessions run weekly, with supporting discussion boards, reading, videos and other material to support your practice. Groups are limited to 12-15 participants
Online book study
This is not an MSC program, but a support for MSC practice through methodical exploration of a key supportive text in an online group environment.
