Video meeting checklist

Right now many of us are turning to the online environment to continue our work. Here’s a checklist of things to do before showing up online:

Turn on equipment

  • Lights
  • Cameras
  • Computer
  • Microphone
  • Other equipment

Check equipment settings

  • Battery levels
  • Available storage space
  • Volume levels
  • Mutes and unmutes
  • Connected cables

Turn of noise-makers

  • Heater
  • Air conditioner
  • Fan
  • Fridge
  • Dishwasher
  • Washing machine/dryer
  • Humidifier
  • Music/TV

Take care of pets

  • Take away squeaky toys
  • Remove noisy collar
  • Keep in another room

Lighting

  • Close blinds
  • Turn on lights

Prepare the space

  • Arrange suitable background
  • Collect props and materials
  • Arrange apps on screen
  • Put phone on silence
  • Silence computer sounds

Care for your body

  • Have water available
  • Use the restroom
  • Have lip balm available
  • Make sure you are at a comfortable temperature
  • Make sure you are not hungry
  • Wear comfortable clothing
  • Tame your hair
  • Wear suitable clothing
